The 1st cohort of UFO funded projects are successfully reaching the final stages of implementation, having benefitted from more than € 1.5 million funding

 As the first cohort of UFO funded projects have reached or are reaching the final stage, we enjoy the new demonstrators and the feasibility results that bring innovation closer to the market, integrating new technological solutions and know-how provided by Small Flying Objects (Drones, High Altitude Platform Systems and Small Satellites), related embedded digital technologies, Key Enabling Technologies (microelectronics, nanotechnologies, photonics etc.), data analysis and relevant applications, while answering the challenges of 6 Emerging Industries: Blue Growth, Digital Creative & Gaming, Mobility, Climate, Environment and Finance & Insurance.

Selected projects received up to €60,000 for feasibility and up to €150,000 for demonstration projects, alongside technical support from industry experts and business mentoring, networking, access to funding to support the project sustainability and market realisation. They have participated or are scheduled to participate in international events and conferences, showcasing their results and creating new opportunities, among which we name: The International Astronautical Congress  in Paris, France,  ScaleUP2022 Conference   in Sofia,Bulgaria,  Cluj Innovation Days 2022  in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, while preparing for the UFO Final Showcase Event in London, UK.

About UFO:

The European project UFO had received €4.3 million from the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Commission of which €3.6 million is dedicated to the support of SMEs through direct financial support and services provided by UFO partners. Present in 5 different countries (Bulgaria, France, Greece, Romania and United Kingdom) UFO aims to finance more than 75 SMEs providing innovative solutions on the targeted emerging industries.
